Curriculum Update

PreK-6 teachers are in the process of putting the final touches on a completed PreK-6 math curriculum. This process has been driven by teams of grade level teachers working collaboratively while using a wide array of both existing internal resources as well external resources. These same teams have already committed two weeks of their time this summer to move forward with ELA with an estimated completion date ready for the 15/16 school year.

Our secondary, 7-12 teams, are working equally as hard and are making significant strides. Since there are more courses per content area at the secondary level, we aren’t moving as quickly as the PreK-6 teams. We still anticipate having math, ELA, science and social studies curricula for grades 7 and 8 completed for the start of the 15/16 school year. For grades 9-12, we are planning to have several courses in math, ELA, science and social studies content areas completed for the start of the 15/16 school year. The secondary teams have also committed their time this summer to continue this project.

At this time, we are planning to begin writing other content areas at all levels, PreK-12, during the 15/16 school year as well as the summer of 2016. We appreciate all the hard work of our curriculum writers and their commitment to this process and their attention to detail and precision.
