The Central Elementary CUBS are holding a Bike Drive. They will be accepting used bicycles, tricycles, scooters, helmets or other bike related items.
The items will then be checked over and tuned up by the CUBS members. The items will be distributed to students of the Union R-XI School District that are in need.

Starting February 27. Union Middle School will be participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Pennies for patients program, a service-learning program that gives students the unique experience of working together of working together to help raise awareness and funds in honor of thousands of children and adults fighting against blood cancer.  This project is being sponsored by the UMS NJHS. We are asking that everyone (students, faculty, parent and family members, alumni, etc) from Union School District join in this effort to raising awareness and collecting funds to benefit the mission of LLS: to find a cure for blood cancers.

Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer and every 9 minutes someone loses their battle.  Thanks to  the support of people like you, doctors are getting closer to finding a cure everyday!  In 1960’s the 5 year survival rate for children under the age of 20 with Leukemia went from 3% to nearly 90% today! You support is critical in helping find a cure.

To learn more about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the work they are doing to find a cure for blood cancers or to make a donation go to the link below.
